Sissy is the wise matriarch of our sanctuary and a true lady in every way. With her iconic flat-top fluff and expressive eyes, she captures hearts wherever she goes. Sissy came to us after a lifetime of being a pet, and while she’s naturally shy, she’s learning to trust more each day.
She loves cozy blankets, slow mornings, and soft voices. You’ll often find her observing everything from a safe perch or quietly grooming a favorite stuffed animal. Though she may keep her circle small, once you’re in, you’re in for life.
At nearly three decades old, Sissy reminds us daily how important it is to honor the seniors in our care with patience, comfort, and unconditional love.
🐒 Sophie
Species: Black-capped capuchin
Age: 2 years old
Sophie is the wild child of SEMO Exotic Sanctuary—and she knows it! Full of sass, smarts, and unstoppable energy, she keeps everyone on their toes (and usually laughing). Whether she’s snatching a broom, pulling pranks, or zooming through the house in a diaper blur, Sophie brings endless life and light wherever she goes.
She’s incredibly intelligent, endlessly curious, and not afraid to voice her opinions—especially if snacks are involved. But when playtime’s over, she turns into the sweetest little snugglebug, curling up in your arms like she never caused a bit of trouble.
Sophie is more than just silly—she’s a daily reminder that joy, mischief, and deep connection can coexist in the tiniest of packages.
🐒 Simon
Species: White-faced capuchin
Age: 20 years old
Simon is the heart of SEMO Exotic. At 20 years old, he’s a wise old soul with a gentle spirit and a seriously flirty side. He’s deeply bonded to Jeff and loves nothing more than spending quiet moments together—but he still melts for Terri's cuddles, especially when she sings to him.
Simon is famous around here for his toothless grin and smooth-talking ways—he’s a total flirt and knows just how to win over anyone who meets him. Whether he’s stealing hearts with his sweet eyes or flashing that gummy smile, Simon is impossible not to love.
He enjoys sunbathing with a blanket, soft brushes, and being part of every calm moment in the sanctuary. Simon reminds us daily that second chances are powerful, love heals slowly, and sometimes the oldest souls are the most unforgettable.
🐒 Lexi
Species: Common marmoset
Age: 5 years old this July
Lexi is the oldest of the marmoset crew and proudly lets everyone know it. She’s confident, focused, and 100% Team Jeff. The two are inseparable—whether she’s riding along to work, “helping” by holding tiny parts, or soaking up a grooming session, Lexi is her daddy’s girl through and through.
She came to us in August 2022 and immediately claimed Jeff as her person. While she keeps her distance from everyone else (especially Terri), her bond with him is something truly special. She’s smart, a little sassy, and definitely knows how to get her way—especially when marshmallows are involved.
Lexi is the boss of her little world, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
🐒 Benji
Species: Common marmoset
Age: Turning 5 in September
Benji might be small, but his personality is huge. He came to SEMO Exotic in August 2022 alongside Lexi—but let’s just say they’ve grown apart. These days, he prefers to keep company with Harley and tolerate humans... on his terms.
Benji’s a total trash talker—especially during diaper changes. He’s not shy about letting you know what he thinks, unless you’re grooming him (in which case he’s suddenly cooperative and adorable). He prefers Terri over Jeff but handles both just fine—as long as someone respects his boundaries... and his snack time.
Benji has a serious sweet tooth. Offer him fruit or gummies and you’ll see his spicy side in full force. He’ll defend his treats like a dragon guarding treasure. Sassy, picky, and completely himself, Benji keeps us laughing—and occasionally ducking.
Kiki
Species: Common marmoset
Age: Turning 4 in early November
Kiki is the quiet soul of the marmoset troop. She loves gentle pets and one-on-one attention but is always careful not to step on anyone's toes—especially with the strong personalities in her troop. Once Harley’s best buddy, she now lives peacefully with Lexi after Benji decided girls weren’t allowed in the boys' club.
Despite the reshuffling, Kiki handles it all with grace. She’s the kind of girl who loves to play a slow game of catch with her little ball or enjoy a good snack of mealworms or crickets without making a fuss.
She may not be the loudest, but Kiki's beautiful little face and calm presence leave a quiet impression on everyone she meets. She reminds us that sometimes the ones who hang back are the ones who love the deepest.
🐒 Harley
Species: Common marmoset
Age: Almost 4 years old
Harley is the teddy bear of the marmoset crew—a gentle, affectionate little guy with a big heart. He’s the first to make friends, the last to leave a cuddle pile, and the one who always keeps the peace among the group.
He absolutely adores snuggle time with Terri and has a special routine: after she showers and puts on lotion, he loves to curl up close, sometimes sneaking a kiss to her ear before settling in for a belly rub. He’ll even roll over mid-grooming just to soak up the love.
Harley’s the only one of his siblings who lives for super mealworms, and he’s proudly in charge of cleaning the plate at night—making sure not a single bite goes to waste before bedtime.
Sweet, social, and totally smitten with his humans, Harley is the definition of a soft soul in a tiny package.
🦉 Bugzy
Species: Owl monkey
Age: Turning 3 in September
Bugzy is a total lovebug and full-time mischief-maker with a heart of gold. He’s deeply bonded to Owlee, and together they’re a tiny, wide-eyed tornado of fun, snuggles, and late-night antics.
A true momma’s boy, Bugzy loves cuddling under blankets and being close to Terri—especially if he’s gotten into something he shouldn't have (which is often). Known for giving kisses either before or after causing trouble, he’s figured out that affection is the perfect apology—and he’s not afraid to use it!
Laid-back, sweet-natured, and quick to make friends, Bugzy brings peace and playfulness to the sanctuary in equal measure. He’s the kind of soul who reminds us that even the smallest ones can hold the biggest hearts.
🦉 Owlee
Species: Owl monkey
Age: 2 years old
Owlee may be small, but she’s packed with personality and speed to match. This playful, chatterbox of a monkey is a whirlwind of tag games, zoomies, and nighttime fun. She’s fast—really fast—and proudly outruns Bugzy in just about every game they play.
She’s Jeff’s girl when it’s snuggle time, often waiting by the bedroom door in the mornings just to greet him. But when it’s time to play and Bugzy’s taking a break, she’s happy to chase Terri around the room instead.
Owlee loves to talk in soft little sounds and is endlessly curious. She gently reaches out to touch faces and stretches out with her tiny arm for rubs under her underarm—a move that melts hearts every time. She even has an unexpected buddy: Bandit the ferret, who’s become part of her circle of friends.
Playful, affectionate, and full of life, Owlee is the spark that keeps the owl monkey room glowing.
🐾 Bandit

Age: 5 years old
Bandit came to SEMO Exotic as a rehome in March, and he quickly earned his name and reputation as our resident sneak-thief and toy hoarder. This curious little guy is always on the move, exploring everything, stealing what he can, and stashing treasures in all his favorite hiding spots.
He loves getting out of his enclosure to roam and interact—especially if there's a chance someone left something shiny or crinkly unattended. With small toys scattered all over his kingdom, Bandit’s day is never complete without a good hunt, a cozy nap, and a dose of attention from his people.
Charming, clever, and endlessly entertaining, Bandit brings nonstop laughs and a touch of adorable chaos to the sanctuary.
🐾 Buddy
Species: Ferret
Age: Unknown
Buddy came to SEMO Exotic after being confiscated by Park Rangers when his former owner was arrested. When he arrived, he was quiet, cautious, and a bit uncertain—but finally had space to stretch, explore, and just be a ferret again.
We believe Buddy may be partially deaf, and while he doesn’t always engage with Bandit, he’s been friendly and open with us. He enjoys roaming around, sniffing out new places, and having his own quiet time—something he likely missed while being cooped up in a truck for so long.
While his future is still being worked out, one thing is certain: Buddy deserves kindness, freedom, and a safe place to call home. Whether he's with us temporarily or long-term, we’re committed to giving him just that.
🐰 Noah
Species: French Lop
Age: Born September 2024 (Still growing!)
Weight: 10 pounds and counting!
Noah is our big, lovable bunny boy who’s quickly growing into both his ears and his personality. At just a few months old, he already weighs 10 pounds and has made himself right at home—literally. He roams the house like he owns the place, does full-speed zoomies, and happily runs up for attention whenever someone’s nearby.
He loves his greens (especially cilantro!)—but don’t let his sweet face fool you. If his bowl is empty, he’ll make it known by picking it up and tossing it across the room. Drama? Maybe. Adorable? Definitely.
Though he’s still a little shy and startles easily, Noah is coming out of his shell more each day. He’s learning that snuggles are safe, the world is soft, and love is something he’ll never run out of here at SEMO.
