Your child will spend the day learning what it’s like to care for animals at SEMO Exotic Sanctuary — from feeding monkeys and making enrichment toys to painting and playing zookeeper games. Every camper leaves with a shirt, goodies and their own animal art to take home!

Family Bonfire Night

Tent Camping Experience
⛺ Stay overnight on the sanctuary grounds and enjoy a cozy campfire, restroom access, and light breakfast the next morning.  (who knows who might hang out with us) **bring your own tent ***camper will need a parent or guardian to stay with them.

• Camp Day Only – $85 per camper
   
• Camp + Bonfire Night – $100 per camper
   
• Camp + Bonfire + Tent Camping – $125 per camper
   
• Additional family meal guests – $5 per person

Our youngest animal lovers will enjoy a gentle, fun-filled introduction to the world of zookeeping. 

Campers will help with meal prep, feed the animals and brush, comb, learn how to care for different ones. They’ll make enrichment crafts, prepare snacks for the monkeys, and create their own splatter paint art to take home. It’s a safe, interactive day full of learning, laughter, and animal magic!  *Handling of animals will be limited at this age but they will get lots of hands on.

Older campers dive deeper into what it really takes to care for exotic animals. From feeding prep and puzzle toy building to animal observation and light cleaning tasks, our Junior Zookeepers will get hands-on experience in sanctuary life. They’ll also take part in team games, enrichment design, and help prep for the Friday night show. This camp is perfect for kids ready to explore, create, and connect with animals in a big way.

After an exciting day at camp, families are invited to return for an evening of food, fun, and celebration under the stars!

We’ll kick off the evening with a good old-fashioned cookout! Every camper and 1 adult receives a meal with their registration, and additional family meals can be purchased for just $5 each.

Menu includes:

• Hamburgers & hot dogs
   
• Chips & (please bring your own drinks)
   
• A build-your-own s’mores station for the ultimate campfire treat!

• Camper Show & Tell: Campers share what they’ve learned about the animals in our care
   
• Family Games – Compete in silly, animal-themed challenges for all ages
   
• Enrichment Demo – See how your camper’s handmade enrichment toys are used with real sanctuary animals

For families who want to stretch the fun just a little longer, our overnight tent camping is the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

After the bonfire winds down, you’ll set up your tent right here on the sanctuary grounds and enjoy a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of nature (and maybe a few curious animal calls!). You'll have access to restrooms, the firepit, and safe, designated camping space.

• Overnight tent space for your family (you will need to bring your own tent)

• Light breakfast the next morning (coffee, juice, and breakfast snacks)
   
• Wake up to the fresh morning air and the start of another day at SEMO! 

 Camping is completely optional, but it’s a magical way to wrap up the experience — unplugged, relaxed, and connected as a family. Bring your own tent, chairs, and campfire spirit! 

(camper will not be allowed to stay pass 5 without a parent or guardian)

Spots for our 2025 Summer Day Camps are limited, and we expect them to fill quickly! Whether your child is brushing a goat for the first time, helping prep food for a monkey, or performing under the stars at our campfire, they’ll leave with confidence, smiles, and a heart full of memories.
